DuitNow: instant transfers and QR, and what to check
DuitNow lets you send money to a registered ID — such as a mobile number or a business registration — instead of a full account number, and DuitNow QR lets you pay by scanning a code in your banking or wallet app. If the Alibaba66 cashier offers DuitNow for your account, it will be one of these two flows. Reading the recipient name
DuitNow's biggest safety feature is that your app shows the recipient's registered name before you confirm. Use it. If the cashier tells you to pay a company and the app shows an individual's name, or a name that has nothing to do with the site, stop and ask support in writing why. Payments to personal names are hard to trace and nearly impossible to reverse.
Deposit steps
- Choose DuitNow in the cashier and enter the amount in ringgit.
- Scan the QR or copy the ID exactly as shown.
- Compare the name shown in your app with the one in the cashier.
- Add the reference the cashier asks for, if any — deposits without it are often delayed.
- Approve and keep the reference number.
Withdrawals
DuitNow is increasingly used for payouts too, because a site can send to your registered mobile number. Whether Alibaba66 does that for your account is shown on the withdrawal page. If it does, make sure the ID you register is linked to an account in your own name — payouts to third parties are normally refused.
Instant means irreversible
DuitNow payments arrive in seconds, which also means there is very little window to cancel a mistake. Double-check the amount before approving. Online gambling remains an offence in Malaysia under the Common Gaming Houses Act 1953, as confirmed by the Court of Appeal in 2023; a fast payment rail does not change that.
